Hot Dog Sandwich Recipe

Everything about this takes me back to a time of laughter, silliness and carefree days. I'm going to try to hold on to this memory forever!

Food has the power to bring back memories that I had tucked away in the depths of my mind.  I can't remember now much I paid for something last week but I can remember the look, smell and taste of something I ate 30 or 40 years ago.

When my sister Aliya and I were kids we enjoyed the best times with our buddies Azra, Ommi, Amer and Faris. They didn't live in Ohio where we lived but our families got together several times a year.

For lunch, I remember, us kids were often served hot dog sandwiches on Wonder Bread and frozen French fries. Do you remember Wonder Bread?! It was so soft and stuck to the roof of your mouth when you took a bite and that was part of the joy!  I know it doesn't sound fancy or healthy but back then I used to love the cut up hot dogs neatly arranged on squidgy, white bread with a generous smear of ketchup.
