No-Bake Chocolate Biscuit Bars Recipe

You can tweak this recipe with different biscuits and add-ins to suit your taste. It's so easy and quick that I urge you to make it today! And you may want to double the recipe 😋.

So, this is one of those bars that you keep going back in the kitchen for throughout the day, nibbling little pieces, and before you know it, it's all gone! My dear friend, Mehreen, always makes these bars and they are so addictive.

These no-bake bars are perfect to make with kids. It's also a quick dessert to whip up if you have guests or a sudden chocolate craving. I love the crunchy biscuits, the chewy cherries, and the creamy chocolate in every bite.

TOTAL TIME

25 Minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 200gm/1 packet Rich Tea biscuits, broken into small pieces (I use McVitie's)

  • 1/2 cup dried cherries

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 3/4 cup golden syrup

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

METHOD

  1. Prepare a square baking pan with butter and baking parchment, allowing the baking parchment to hang over the sides.

  2. In a saucepan, heat butter, golden syrup and chocolate chips on low heat until smooth.

  3. In a large bowl, add biscuit pieces and cherries and most of the chocolate mixture, reserving a bit for the top.

  4. Fold everything together until combined.

  5. Spread mixture into baking pan, pressing down evenly. I press with the bottom of a glass to make everything level.

  6. Pour the remaining chocolate mixture on top and spread evenly.

  7. Put in the fridge to chill.

  8. Take the cake out of the baking pan with the hanging parchment.

  9. Cut into squares and store in an airtight container.

Tips and Bits

You can use Digestives or any other biscuit that you prefer.

You can add raisins, apricots, meringue or nuts to this mixture.
